Frequently Asked Questions

  • Direct primary care membership includes all of your routine care - annual physicals, preventative screenings, management of chronic health conditions, treatment of everyday illnesses and injuries, and more! It also includes simple procedures such as joint injections or mole removal. Some elective services, such as botulinum toxin injections, are available for an additional fee.

  • Yes! If you’re healthy, our goal is to keep you that way. Your doctor will work to make sure that you stay up to date with your preventative screenings, and that you are happy, healthy, and living well. Your DPC membership also gives you easy access to your doctor in the event that you do get sick or injured.

  • We do not bill insurance for any of the services we provide. Instead, your yearly check-up and all of your office visits for the year are covered by your membership fee.

  • Yes. Your DPC membership will include all of your normal clinic needs- both preventive and illness cares. You’ll still need insurance if a major health problem requires a specialist or hospital stay. Many patients find that joining a DPC clinic actually helps them save money on healthcare! If you have immediate access to your favorite provider, the need for urgent care evaporates.

We offer non-members individual appointments for a flat fee. We charge $150 for a 15 minute visit, and $200 for a 30 minute visit.

We also offer services including circumcisions, menopause care, and botulinum toxin injections to non-members. Please see our Non-Member Services page for the full list.

  • We hope to have an open, honest relationship with you and that we will be able to solve any problems that arise together. If you have a complaint that we can’t address together, or if you have another reason for cancellation like moving away, we will gladly cancel your membership. We understand that direct primary care may not be for everyone.

For patients who do cancel their membership and later decide that they want to return, there is a $150 re-enrollment fee.

  • Unfortunately, I will not be providing pregnancy care for the foreseeable future.  This has been the single most difficult part of my decision to start something new.  There remains a handful of pretty spectacular providers out there.  I strongly recommend that you reach out to your favorite birth doula - as they always have the best pulse of who is providing the best care- and make sure they steer you in the correct direction.

That  being said, I still plan on caring for newborns and young families.  It might surprise some families as to how varied newborn care can be.  There are many providers who have not been trained in breastfeeding support or feel comfortable with how to support both mom and baby the first 2 weeks when things can be the toughest.  Please make sure to reach out if you are looking for someone who JUST LOVES caring for families during this sometimes difficult transition.
